About the Author

Dr. Della Perez is an Assistant Professor in Curriculum and Instruction at Kansas State University. As an Elementary teacher and ESL Coordinator for the Salt Lake City School District in Salt Lake City, UT, Dr. Perez learned early on in her career the importance of instructional theory and student advocacy. For the past 25 years, Dr. Perez has worked with Undergraudate and Graduate students at Kansas State University. In addition, Dr. Perez has co-authored numerous textbooks, journal articles, and edited chapters on the best instructional practices for CLD students, social-emotional learning, and foundations of education.
