Preface
This book is for adult learners in general who are interested in becoming a competent digital leader who knows how to capitalize on technology to transform traditional education and workforce practices.
Digital leadership development is a newly emerged but rapidly growing area of research, practice, and profession. Due to fast technology innovations and diffusions, there have been a lot of changes and innovations in today’s education and training world that are hard to keep up with. One main purpose of this book is to introduce to you the attributes that most education and training organizations and institutions would like to see in their leaders in the next 10 to 15 years when technology is more seamlessly integrated into everyday education and training practices. Therefore, some of you may feel a little bit distanced from some of the topics covered in this book. I have tried to shorten the distance by providing real-world examples to help you connect the dots. But, if somehow you still feel distanced from some topics, it is a normal learning curve. As long as you keep yourself OPEN to new ways of thinking and innovative ways of leading education and training endeavors in this digital world, you will bring home a to-do list to work on to become a digital leader. The list you bring home will be different from others depending on how much efforts each of you put into learning about the topic – Digital leadership development.
