The Watercolor Artist

Born and raised on a small farm in Atchison County, northeast Kansas. I’ve been an Art enthusiast all my life. My more formalized exposure started with Secondary education. For those four years I was exposed to all manner of media for drawing, painting, and printmaking, under the tutelage of Max King. Followed by three years study of photo lithography, printing and commercial art under the direction of Dan Enoch. And eventually found time to work in the home studio of regional artist Walt Yost.
For years I neglected my arts studies and succumbed to the wanderlust—working, from Missouri to New Mexico, and from Texas to Minnesota, “…earning a living” until retirement.
I retired from the road to the tall grass prairie which I refer to as “Tallgrass Abbey … more a place of the heart, rather than any one location on a map.”
I began a retirement hobby of making hand drawn seasonal post cards — sent to friends and relatives. Since that met with some success and much satisfaction, I resumed my full on avocation in two-dimensional Arts studies (drawing, and painting, with transparent and opaque watercolors, gouache, and acrylic mediums—mostly).
